a 17-year-old rambunctious army soldier hired don wei gunner racing vehicle. shot, although tends overdo it. jordan protective of racing partners. seen throughout series, jordan has intense hatred of crogs because grandfather attacked crogs on exploring mission (seen in episode 1). doesn t approve of eva s interest in prince aikka, nourasians have alliance crogs. while acts more overprotective brother toward eva while on alwas, on Ōban starts develop more serious feelings (though unclear if molly feels same way him). jordan helps eva fight way temple of heart stop canaletto regaining avatar powers. when canaletto capture sphere containing avatars powers, jordan tells molly loves , jumps sphere, therefore becoming new avatar. , molly have brief conversation right after becomes new avatar, in tells goodbye , kisses her. last seen on oban, watching team leave earth (though don t see him), single tear escaping eye.

a small, eccentric being proclaims himself avatar s loyal servant. mysteriously appears whenever molly needs encouragement, or when things aren t going way. has second persona, super racer, , competes against in playoffs on alwas. satis becomes more mysterious, when on Ōban, grand finalist pilot reveals on 3 preliminary planets @ same time. prior final race, revealed satis not avatar s servant, avatar himself. satis previous winner of great race 10,000 years ago. revealed finish of race approaches power , health have begun weaken. after molly refuses accept powers of avatar, satis destroys pyramid of power in temple prevent canaletto stealing powers. canaletto defeats him, , satis last seen in hands of aikka, disappearing cloud of lights.

a biomechanical racer who, along ship, seems run on steam power. violent , quick anger, not suffer losing gracefully. after losing earth team, seeks out molly , starts fight, intending kill her. though jordan comes help, prince aikka defeats him (to save molly). sleek, podracer-like craft described piece of junk , resistant damage, polarised titanium exterior. s heavily-armed, pair of missile launchers/projectile cannons on fronts of engines , rapid-fire laser gun mounted on cockpit. groor speaks himself in third person, , has odd tendency shout own name in battle.

a pilot alwas, host planet of great race s preliminary matches. arrogant , not quite seems; judges fix races him, since s home-town favorite. , gunner, marcel, pilot flying fortress, green star-racer resembles steam-powered train or tugboat. 2 of them later confront stan , koji, looking spare parts, , show them location of star-racer graveyard . flint reasons if can earth team reach Ōban, have lost best team in galaxy , restore him in eyes of fans.


ceres (セレス, seresu)
the last surviving member of mong, ancient race. resembles hieroglyphic carving come life, , ship bizarre tangle of pipes apparently functions via unknown form of planetary magnetism. use force reflect enemy attacks @ them , used flute create hallucinations. use staff tap on hollow pipes of ship, creating destructive sound waves use against enemies. ceres able trap molly within hallucination during race, until rick able turn on cd player, loud rock music caused illusion shatter , ceres lose concentration , crash wall on race track. survived though, somehow, , briefly glimpsed in make way!, waiting in line return homeworld.


para-dice (パラダイス, paradaisu)

a cat-like, 12-year-old hacker prodigy; trickery , sabotage main strategies, won t hesitate blast opponent off course either. controls ship via dynamic footpad, resembles dance dance revolution platform. sees great race nothing more game. para-dice reveals true nature of ultimate prize molly during race. pink cat-like creature cube shaped head , lime green , purple jumpsuit-like outfit. though speaks fluent english, has odd tendency meow between sentences. seen again, briefly, in make way! when eva runs docks looking rick.


super racer
a racer dressed superhero turns out satis in disguise, testing other racers. acts cocky , makes eccentric poses. ship unique, resembles upright ring, cockpit on top , mouth shark teeth painted on it. 2 large metal balls come out of center of ring , rapidly orbit around ship prevent enemies overtaking him. has 3 short metal legs on bottom used trotting/jumping start until ship gains enough momentum fly. there light laser cannons mounted on nose.


rush (ラッシュ, rasshu)

a giant, viking-like racer who, despite intimidating appearance, friendly, natured person. first appearance in hostilities break out when molly gets run on star-racer on way fuel. saves molly drowning after becomes trapped inside flooding ruins. when asked why following them, tells molly , jordan came congratulate them on beating him in race earlier day. apparently, on planet people known being optimistic , looking on bright side of things. says ram horn half-full. rush abandoned race duel toros after revealed him crog led invasion of home world byrus. lost both duel , race when toros drove ship bridge on race course, burying him in pile of rubble , knocking him out of playoffs. rush had wanted use ultimate prize undo damage crogs had done home world. rush s star-racer made of unique metal homeworld nigh-unbreakable. however, faster looks, powerful magma-fueled engines. rush sits atop racer, controlling , 2 extendable arms pair of circular control yokes.


spirit (スピリット, supiritto)
ambassador of fills; mysterious, polymorphic, shadowy being. ten years earlier raced against molly’s mother, maya. near end of race maya’s ship crashed , exploded. molly , father since day have believed spirit had intentionally killed maya. during race against molly ended in molly crashing ship trying kill spirit, spirit showed unconscious molly happened mother; spirit noticed maya s vehicle leaking , wanted stop race, maya pushed him keep going indicating him okay before explosion took place. spirit left finish race, not before shedding tear implying felt guilty death of maya. eliminated @ end of playoffs prince aikka. utilises polymorphic shapeshifting powers transform bird-like creature can match star-racer s speed.


colonel toros (トロス大佐, torosu taisa)

colonel of crog imperium , younger brother of crog leader. crogs sinister alien race threatened destroy earth 25 years ago. determined obtain ultimate prize in order enslave entire galaxy under crog rule. toros leader of crog force decimated rush s homeworld of byrus, transforming paradise polluted wasteland. seemingly unbeatable, handed defeat during rematch against molly when crashes against starting gate in game of chicken , still advances grand finals. during course of alwas playoffs, first racer, standard crog trident, damaged during race rush. replaced before rematch molly upgraded model, sporting more curvaceous , intimidating blades , two-stage hyper drive similar earth team s whizzing arrow iii. despite having best record on alwas, toros single unacceptable loss earth team results in him being replaced crog s pilot on oban general kross. kross states gave head willingly crog imperium , hinting toros may have been executed own request, unable bear lost earth team.

two proud , aggressive creatures destroyed planet inna; race made of females only. star-racer distinctive in 2 ships fly in tandem, capable of combining form more powerful craft. after combining ships, gain ability use extremely powerful heat-seeking plasma cannon. star racers rectangle-shaped, red black border and, when 2 separate racers, driven motorcycles. short-haired sister, skun, can make fingernails grow long claws. extremely strong, tearing hole in arrow iii s hull bare hands in episode nervous ning & skun. want ultimate prize reunite people, scattered throughout galaxy. in episode canaletto s revenge sisters challenge kross last gate. although never seen, battle witnessed afar molly, , fact kross emerges victorious, emphasizes demise. proves false when in final episode both shown have survived. though ning , skun known fierce, have deep bond of loyalty each other, shown when deciding compete next avatar, didn t want separated. , when ambush kross, told each other had no regrets , whatever happens, m glad . in oban star racer artbook s said ning , skun close lovers.

captain of space-galleon, bad-tempered egocentric. recognizable due him being smallest in stature of racers, habit of keeping large tongue hanging outside mouth, having @ first appearance of scarf or ascot. being self-proclaimed pirate, sees ultimate prize treasure claimed. after race over, crew members return came , assumed continue careers pirates, furter himself conspicuously absent. star-racer large, slow, pirate ship-like vehicle armed 4 cannons, capable of firing either energized cannon balls or tow cables. carries pair of powerful (if rather slow-firing) guns hidden in masts. furter s crew can seen running deck, going duties , panicking when shot at. vessel destroyed kross in episode canaletto s revenge when rammed star racer it, splitting in 2 before exploded; crew escaped, lord furter tried prove loyalty ship not abandoning it, though @ last moment has change of heart , flees ship explodes.

general of crog imperium. replaces toros crog s representative on Ōban, because toros loss earth team in last race of playoffs unacceptable . more intimidating toros, kross has distinctive crescent-shaped scar on left eye , has 4 ears compared toros two. kross pilots stronger version of crog trident, starfighter used toros on alwas; equipped more cutting blades, , fixed bow weapons pod fire sickle laser bolts, large laser sword, , can fire heat-seeking energy torpedoes. after revealing true nature of ultimate prize crog senate, make him supreme ruler. kross stalks , attempts eliminate pilots during last race of competition. in end, comes down sprint between him , molly. kross attempts land on top of molly , cut racer in two, last second maneuver molly sends kross s fighter plowing ground. kross last words surprised curse of kramm fighter crashes , explodes him in it.

ondai robot looks cylinder walks on 3 flat metal legs. analytical , running calculations, known have sarcastic , narcissistic personality. ondai s star-racer capable of transforming humanoid mech armed pair of energy swords , battery of missile launchers. may carried away calculations when many things around him mathematically possible, causing him go state of awe, exemplified in optimized ondai. constant putting-down of living creatures make 1 think wish machines reign supreme, not further truth; envies organic beings. robot, cannot feel sensations of touch or warmth, longs for. constant study of living creatures has done nothing, hopes ultimate prize science cannot; make him flesh , blood, or @ least let him feel. star-racer (in robot mode) disabled prince aikka in final race, , not seen again.


o (オー, Ō)
the tallest of 9 oban pilots, resembles large upside down teardrop stubby legs , 1 large eye in middle. appears pilot large, bizarre, organic construct looks similar jellyfish of sort. in ominous o , kross fired laser @ him, , absorbed shot , fired in giant wave damaged arrow iii causing crash @ bottom of seemingly bottomless canyon. o able transform larger bulkier humanoid-like form arms resemble heads of killer whales. in canaletto s revenge, revealed o present when satis first locked canaletto away - satis begs o destroy canaletto, alone neutralize powers. however, o left instead, satis calling after him o, don t leave, come back! thinking during last race, guilt-ridden o chooses settle in crater rather attempt finish. after canaletto freed, o rushes molly, jordan , prince aikka , follows them temple of heart, protects them 2 giant guardians controlled canaletto before being killed them. unique energy-absorption abilities allowed him take guardians down him, consuming them in enormous explosion disintegrated 3 of them.


muir (ムイール, muīru)
a large crab-like alien heavy, armored shell , large pincers, telepathic tentacles. molly , jordan mistook native Ōban life form. prince aikka comments s not aggressive unless provoked. muir flies in appears giant, flying horseshoe crab, claws , tentacles similar own, , strange retractable fin in discharges energy spheres. in monstrous muir, molly discovers isn t 1 wants bring loved one; muir s mate killed alien hunters wanted tentacles , left dead , hopes win great race bring life. while racing, muir sits atop large, liquid-filled globe, containing body of mate. revealed tentacles on muir s allow communicate telepathically , appear highly prized hunting trophy. muir chooses not take part in final race after learning avatar doesn t have power resurrect mate. after race ended returned home planet.
