the garden front


the counts festetics progressive landowners: kristóf festetics founded hospital, pál festetics established school in town, , in 1797, count györgy festetics opened agricultural college, georgikon, first of kind in europe, still in operation faculty of university of pannonia.


the palace s library wing built count györgy festetics in 1799—1801, guidance andrás fischer of vienna academy. execution entrusted local artisans. dining room (now concert hall) has stucco decor mátyás vathner town of pápa. stonework executed local mason józsef zitterbart, locksmithing local master craftsman, józsef dobrolán, tiled stoves józsef pittermann , inlaid floors , woodwork master carpenter jános kerbl, responsible fittings in library.

11th century parish church of St Leonard Hythe, Kent
