capet showed work @ exposition de la jeunesse, , later exhibited @ salon when opened artists after french revolution. body of work included miniature paintings, oil paintings, , pastels, praised virtuoso draftsmanship , use of color. many of pastel paintings portraits, though 1808 regarded history painter in own right. counted among other customers several members of royal family, , other members of paris society, such lawyer pierre-nicolas berryer , playwright joseph chénier.[6]
capet , labille-guiard not enjoyed professional relationship, close family friends. capet move in teacher @ louvre until labille-guiard s death. after adélaïde labille-guiard married painter françois vincent in 1799, capet continued live in home.
among works best known of mesdames adelaide , victoire, madame vincent surrounded pupils, mlle. mars, , jean-antoine houdon. @ time academy had limited members of women painters 4 woman members. died in paris in 1818.
