bohlinger served 3 terms in montana house of representatives , twice elected montana state senate. resigned senate seat assumed office of lieutenant governor.


on 2004 democratic gubernatorial ticket, bohlinger, republican, joined democratic candidate brian schweitzer. there no precedent in montana gubernatorial ticket candidates belonged different parties. ticket prevailed, , bohlinger inaugurated lieutenant governor of montana, on january 3, 2005. schweitzer-bohlinger team re-elected second term, on november 4, 2008.
