jamie franks grew in rural area outside of raleigh, north carolina in family of hunters , shooters on family s tobacco farm. spent of childhood exploring, hunting, , roaming backwoods of southeastern united states. child, franks aspired career in military. age father let him shoot of guns once old enough handle them safely.


at age 6, franks received , became proficient first bb gun. few years later got first .410 shotgun , .22 rifle, leading career in shooting. continued push himself better shooter , spent lot of time in woods hunting.
