domestic career

adam lyth collecting 2008 yorkshire county cricket club young player of year award stewart regan.


born 25 september 1987, whitby, north yorkshire, lyth made first-team debut yorkshire in pro40 match in 2006, , first-class debut in may 2007, against loughborough ucce. england under-16 squad south africa, , england u-19 squad malaysia , india, , home against pakistan.


in 2008 season, scored 645 runs in county championship, won yorkshire county cricket club young player of year award, , signed three-year contract yorkshire @ end of season.


on 24 august 2010, lyth awarded county cap on home ground @ north marine road ground, scarborough, before start of yorkshire s county championship match against hampshire.


at county championship match against leicestershire @ grace road in july 2012, lyth created county record, becoming first yorkshire batsman score on 200 runs, whilst carrying bat through entire innings. totalled first-class career best of 248 not out.


on 17 august 2017, lyth scored highest ever individual score in t20 blast. scored 161 73 deliveries, consisted of 20 fours , 7 sixes, against northamptonshire. built opening partnership of 127 runs tom kohler-cadmore. yorkshire won 124 runs.


international career

in march 2015, lyth named in england test squad tour of west indies, did not play in series, jonathan trott being preferred instead.


he made test debut england against new zealand in may 2015 , scored first test run off first ball of game. failed make significant score in either innings, being dismissed 7 in first innings , losing wicket while on 12 in second. despite this, england went on win game 124 runs go 1–0 in series. in second test, lyth top scored england 107, helping them post 350. however, not follow in second innings, being dismissed 24 england lost game 199 runs draw series 1–1.


lyth selected england s opener 2015 ashes series. lyth subsequently dropped test side after ashes series after gaining total of 111 runs 9 innings.
