the a2 motorway subject multiple reconstruction projects. next project around eindhoven, described above, a2 being rebuilt @ following locations:


amsterdam - utrecht

between interchanges holendrecht , oudenrijn, road has been widened 6 (2x3) ten (2x5) lanes. has enough space expand road fourteen (2x7) lanes. near city of utrecht, system of local-express lanes has been applied, inner 3 lanes serving express traffic, , outer 2 lanes serving local traffic. unlike situation near eindhoven, motorway status maintained local lanes, means ten lanes keep name a2.


utrecht - s-hertogenbosch

between interchanges oudenrijn , everdingen, a2 expanded 2x4 lanes. between interchanges everdingen , deil, road widened 4 (2x2) 8 lanes (2x4); section between interchanges deil , empel expanded 4 6 lanes.


s-hertogenbosch beltway

the a2 around city of s-hertogenbosch rebuilt future situation near utrecht. however, there 4 express lanes, instead of 6 near utrecht, road has 4x2 lanes.


s-hertogenbosch - eindhoven

since both s-hertogenbosch , eindhoven beltways finished in 2009, new bottleneck appeared between both cities. motorway has 2x2 lanes while both beltways having twice capacity. construction of expanding section 2x3 lanes started on december 13, 2011.
