early years

sodje born in greenwich, london , joined margate @ beginning of 2002–03 season , scored on debut header. won supporters player of year award @ end of first season margate.


in summer of 2003, went on trial @ yeovil town , chester city, neither team signed him. returned margate play conference football 2003–04 season , impressed once again.


brentford

at beginning of 2004–05 season, moved margate league 1 side brentford on free transfer. became popular brentford fans through combination of goal-scoring, , crazy hairstyles. @ end of season won local newspaper award player of season, , @ end of 2005–06 season honoured place in pfa league 1 team of year.


reading

it revealed sodje had turned down move southampton on 31 january 2006, final day of transfer window. transfer speculation followed until announced on 12 july 2006 sodje join reading, subject medical; transfer completed on 14 july 2006.


sodje made reading début away wigan athletic on 26 august 2006 because of suspension ibrahima sonko, , scored first reading goal against burnley in fa cup on 9 january 2007. however, first team opportunities in 2006–07 proved limited, on 16 march 2007 signed month s loan deal west bromwich albion, subsequently extended end of 2006–07 season. whilst there, helped baggies place in championship playoff final, lost 1–0 derby county. scored once west brom, in 2–1 win on norwich city on 9 april 2007.


in summer 2007 transfer window, sheffield wednesday agreed fee reading sodje, sodje given opportunity think on move. however, sodje joined charlton athletic on loan remainder of 2007–08 season. made charlton début in club s 2–0 victory on norwich city late substitute on 18 september 2007. performance in charlton s 3–1 home win on ipswich town on 8 december 2007 earned him place in championship team of week.


in september 2008, sodje joined fellow championship side watford on month s loan cover team s injuries. played in 1 game away @ sheffield united before returning reading after aggravating knee injury.


leeds united (loan)

on 26 march 2009, sodje joined leeds united on loan month option extend loan until end of 2008–09 season, after impressing in first month loan extended until end of season. sodje partnered richard naylor @ centre , formed strong partnership him during loan spell, though sodje played 8 times during loan spell leeds including playoff semi finals against millwall


second spell @ charlton athletic

on 28 may 2009, reading told sodje free leave club. sodje returned on free transfer club on loan two-seasons prior, charlton athletic. sodje made full début in 0–0 game @ former club leeds united. club being local birthplace of greenwich, stated club in blood . on 14 november, sodje s brother akpo, joined him @ club on loan sheffield wednesday. sodje part of charlton side reached league 1 playoffs, knocked out of playoffs after losing on penalties swindon town. sodje missed 2 semi finals after suffering injury. in total sodje scored 4 goals charlton during 2009–10 season.


skoda xanthi

in july 2010, sodje joined greek club skoda xanthi, club signed george boateng. sodje released contract month after joining xanthi.


on 18 august, sodje joined portsmouth on trial. after finishing trial @ portsmouth, milton keynes dons linked move player. on 14 october, sodje joined sheffield wednesday on trial, brother akpo sodje used play owls. after picking niggling injuries whilst on trial @ sheffield wednesday, owl s decided not sign sodje.


notts county

on 29 october 2010, sodje became new manager paul ince s first signing @ notts county, joining them on free transfer. made county début on 6 november in fa cup 1st round match against gateshead.


in may 2012 released club, along 12 other players.


portsmouth

on 18 january 2013, went on trial @ portsmouth. 6 days later, signed one-month deal club. made debut in 3–2 home defeat colchester united on 2 february 2013.
