on august 26, 2003, disney released direct-to-video sequel, stitch! movie, served pilot television series titled lilo & stitch: series. series ran 65 episodes between september 20, 2003 , july 29, 2006. series carried on film left off , charted lilo , stitch s efforts capture , rehabilitate jumba s remaining experiments. series ended television film leroy & stitch, aired on june 23, 2006.


on august 30, 2005, lilo & stitch 2: stitch has glitch, direct-to-video sequel film, released. in film (set between lilo & stitch , stitch! movie), stitch has glitch because molecules never charged (this contrary alternate opening, stitch s trial , seen on dvd release of lilo & stitch). lilo wants win may day hula contest mother did in 1970s, stitch continues have outbursts. lilo gets increasingly mad @ stitch glitch causes more problems , ruins chances of winning competition. thinks stitch not cooperating properly, until finds out stitch dying.


in march 2008, disney announced anime based on lilo & stitch franchise aimed @ japanese market titled stitch!. anime, began in october 2008, features japanese girl named yuna in place of lilo, , set on fictional island in okinawa prefecture instead of hawaii. series produced madhouse , later shin-ei animation.


in march 2017, third animated television series based on franchise titled stitch & ai debuted in china. stitch! anime, features local girl named ai instead of lilo, , set in huangshan mountains. unlike stitch! however, series produced in english in co-operation american animators , dubbed local language. stitch & ai produced anhui xinhua media , panimation hwakai media.
