the first section of northern busway, intersection of roma street herston, opened on 23 february 2004 1 station, qut kelvin grove. on 14 december 2005, 2 new stations, normanby , royal children s hospital herston, opened on existing section.


the second section of northern busway, known inner northern busway, officially opened on 19 may 2008. section connects first section of northern busway south east busway stations @ king george square , roma street. make room inner northern busway, 1 rail platform @ roma street railway station removed.


in october 2007 alliance of abigroup , smec holdings selected build 1.2 kilometre royal children s hospital windsor section new station @ royal brisbane & women s hospital. opened on 3 august 2009. on 18 june 2012, windsor kedron section opened.
