high winds , heavy rains, amounting 3.82 in (97 mm), battered st. kitts , nevis; 2 coast guard vessels grounded on islands. several streets flooded throughout area. widespread power outages affected many residents on island, of whom remained without electricity 24 hours.


british leeward islands

on dominica, 3 minor earthquakes, 1 measuring 2.7 on richter magnitude scale, struck island during earl s passage. in montserrat, moderate damage took place result of earl. torrential rains, amounting 12 in (300 mm) triggered several landslides , flooding. no structural damage took place; however, roads, trees , power lines impacted. initial assessments officials indicated losses reached ec$10 million ($3.7 million usd).
