the grade ii listed parish church of christ church began construction in 1829 laying of foundation stone. church designed thomas trubshaw (1802–42) , built using local stone called hollington stone. trubshaw son of james trubshaw, head of staffordshire family of masons , church builders had been involved in church building many years. church designed , built in gothic style. structure 72.0 feet (21.9 m) in length , has central aisle , 2 side aisles. church 32.0 feet (9.8 m) @ widest. there 40.0 feet (12.2 m) tall tower recessed spire @ north west single bell. around outside eaves of church there carved gargoyles said depict workmen involved in building of church. church completed in 1833 , opened on 31 july of year.
