amoebic infection of cornea serious corneal infection, affecting contact lens wearers. caused acanthamoeba. on may 25, 2007, cdc issued health advisory due increased risk of acanthamoeba keratitis (ak) associated use of advanced medical optics (amo) complete moisture plus multi-purpose eye solution.
