externally, an-124 similar american lockheed c-5 galaxy, having double fuselage allow rear cargo door (on lower fuselage) can open in flight without affecting structural integrity. shorter, greater wingspan, , 25% larger payload. instead of galaxy s t-tail, an-124 uses conventional empennage, similar in design of boeing 747.
