price opposed several social outreach programs in north-end winnipeg, claiming brought unwelcome persons region. spoke out against christian mission soup kitchen reason in 1998, , subsequently opposed needle exchange program. in 1994, complained satanic , obscene graffiti in winnipeg s subway system.


he first ran manitoba legislature in 1988 provincial election, in constituency of st. johns. received 68 votes, finishing fifth against new democratic party incumbent judy wasylycia-leis. received 66 votes (1.3%) in 1990, finishing fifth against ndp candidate george hickes. price campaigned winnipeg school board in 1992, 1995 , 1998, , lost times.


price died on march 4, 2002, @ age 71.

walter diawol (died november 1994) gadfly candidate public office in late 1980s , 1990s. junk collector, , fought extended battle city of winnipeg on failure clean property. city removed garbage collection (over objections) in 1985, 1986, 1987 , 1993, , took title of house on last occasion. newspaper report indicates winnipeg officials needed 9 five-ton truckloads , 3 garbage truckloads clear property of dead batteries, scrap wood, broken lawn chairs, broken tvs , headboards , box springs in july 1993 cleanup. diawol not forced leave house, however, , continued reside there until death in 1994. when questioned, diawol said junk hobby.
