new headteacher kerry target joined school in september 2015 , school s recent ofsted report cited effective measures school has in place support teaching , learning , continue raise attainment.

the school s enrichment activities have resulted in increased opportunities students, effective outreach feeder primary schools , improved student leadership.


the school has established theatre company students stage regular showcases, including cultural celebrations , concerts. through relationship british theatre academy, school has seen pupils perform in west end in colour purple.


the programme of enrichment , outreach feeder primary schools sees st andrew s students leading workshops @ feeder primary schools, becoming teachers day. school s stem programme aims provide students unique stem focus across curriculum. part of this, st andrew’s hosted ‘science in action’ workshop hundreds of primary school pupils, led school’s expert science team. programme gives primary school pupils opportunity hands on science. computing featured, primary school pupils creating one-player computer game.

the idea of st andrew s crest comes scottish national flag. has been changed unique logo showing shield white saltire cross of st andrew on blue (specifically heraldic azure) ground. cross pierces red five-leafed open coronet. on under side of shield latin school motto: per crucem ad coronam.

students joining school assigned 1 of 5 houses. school operates vertical pastoral system: students placed tutor group on joining school , remain in same group until end of year 10, @ point move 1 of 5 groups designated year 11 students in order can given specific guidance in relation gcse examinations. house system being discontinued in september 2016 new headteacher.

11th century parish church of St Leonard Hythe, Kent
