housing

ipfw predominately commuter school, 6 percent of student body living in university-operated housing , 94 percent living off campus; 99 percent of students have cars on campus. beginning fall semester 2004, university introduced student dormitories on waterfield campus. phase ii of student housing initiative continued 2 more buildings in august 2007, total student housing occupancy approaching 750 residents. phase iii of project, opened in august 2010, added 448 beds divided between 4 new residence buildings, bringing total occupancy more 1,200 students. student community center, clubhouse, larger version of existing cole commons, , maintenance facility added.

the communicator ipfw’s student newspaper. college access television operated ipfw , 1 of 5 educational-access television channels serving fort wayne , allen county. catv available on frontier communications , comcast cable systems , serves higher education cable access channel , provides opportunities in higher education area residents. university leases portion of east campus, @ east coliseum boulevard , crescent avenue intersection, northeast indiana s pbs member station, wfwa-tv.
