while mergers not proposed onset of articles deletion (afd) discussions (also see wikipedia:deletion policy#alternatives deletion), not uncommon editors, in effort mediate and/or compromise, suggest article(s) nominated deletion instead merged parent article. if there rough consensus merger @ end of deletion discussion, following template placed @ top of nominated article:
