ivanov began career in beroe , made debut in 2003-04 season. on 6 may 2010, beroe won bulgarian cup, beating chernomorets pomorie in final. ivanov played through whole match. on 18 october 2009, scored goal in 1–0 away league win on levski sofia.


levski sofia

after playing 7 seasons beroe, ivanov signed three-year-deal levski sofia fee of around €100 000 on 8 june 2010. made unofficial debut levski in pre-season friendly match against târgu mureş on 30 june, entering match substitute.


ivanov made competitive debut levski in match against dundalk - second qualifying round europa league. levski won first match , result 6–0. in europa league match against lille held on 4 november 2010, levski leading 2–1 until ivo ivanov scored own goal shortly before conclusion of game make 2-2. on 17 april 2011, ivanov scored winning goal against cherno more varna in pfg match.


return beroe

on 31 july 2012, ivanov re-joined beroe part of player exchange deal sending dimitar vezalov levski sofia.


after departure of georgi andonov beroe in august 2014, ivanov named replacement club captain. on 20 january 2015, signed two-year contract extension, keeping him @ beroe until 2017. in may 2017, left club after contract expired.

on 19 june 2017, ivanov made short trip across stara zagora, signing vereya.
