the parish church lies south of current main road, amongst small cluster of buildings represent original village. built in simple rectangular form, pediment on north (entrance) side , low central spire, in 1784 james thompson of leith. interior remodelled in 1835 edinburgh architect, david bryce, , in 1848 windows enlarged architect david cousin. graveyard pre-dates church presumed church replaced earlier church.


the graveyard laid out in 3 sections: original section around church including several interesting carved stones 17th , 18th centuries; victorian section on raised tier; , attached, separately walled cemetery south, containing 20th century graves.


the war memorial. adopts form of medieval market cross, stands near entrance church.
