seeking further skills firearms, franks sought out special training navy. trained operations specialist , later applied , accepted in navy seal s bud/s program. unfortunately, unable complete bud/s due medical reasons, did not stop drive. franks graduated navy expeditionary combat skills , practical weapons courses , anti-terrorism force protection/deadly force training. continued work operations specialists , navy rescue swimmer on 6 overseas deployments including tours in afghanistan in 2009, 2010 , 2011. while in afghanistan jamie assigned counter-ied task force.


after season 2 of top shot, jamie became eod mobile unit-3 sailor of year in 2010 , hand-selected expeditionary small arms marksmanship instructor (sami).


in 2017 jamie franks selected advancement navy chief petty officer based on record of sustained superior performance in navy.
