on 7 march 2007 melbourne renamed city street in honour: dame edna place, formerly brown alley off little collins street, officially opened lord mayor of melbourne, john so. dame edna place opposite royal arcade , causeway, between major roads, elizabeth street , swanston street; was, until renaming, service alley adjoining buildings. dame edna not @ renaming ceremony represented ten look-alike dames. everage street in suburban moonee ponds has been named in honour.


in 1982, dame edna s alter-ego barry humphries made officer of order of australia services theatre , on 16 june 2007 made commander of order of british empire services entertainment.


in mac cosmetics 2008 winter line-up, dame edna collection of cosmetics released including eye shadow, lipstick, powder, , nail polish.


a bronze statue unveiled @ melbourne docklands in january 2009. located yarra river near harbour town includes statues of singer john farnham, dame nellie melba, , graham kennedy.
