on june 20, 2009, civil rights game played first time part of regular season schedule. game took place @ great american ball park in cincinnati between host cincinnati reds , chicago white sox. white sox defeated reds, 10–8. game, teams wore replicas of 1965 uniforms. white sox became first team participate in 2 civil rights games. game broadcast on mlb network except in home markets of 2 teams played in game, cincinnati (fsn ohio) , chicago (csn chicago).
as of end of 2011 season, game marks last time white sox have worn white socks.
