Design and construction USS Colhoun (DD-85)



colhoun 1 of 111 wickes-class destroyers built united states navy between 1917 , 1919. she, along 25 of sisters, constructed @ fore river shipyard shipyards in quincy, massachusetts using specifications , detail designs drawn bethlehem steel.


she had standard displacement of 1,060 tonnes (1,040 long tons; 1,170 short tons) overall length of 315 feet 5 inches (96.14 m), beam of 31 feet 9 inches (9.68 m) , draught of 9 feet 2 inches (2.79 m). on trials, harding reached speed of 35 knots (65 km/h; 40 mph). armed 4 4-inch (102 mm)/50 caliber guns , twelve 21-inch (533 mm) torpedo tubes. had regular crew complement of 100 officers , enlisted men. driven 2 curtis steam turbines powered 4 yarrow boilers.
