in 1929, clackline school s students , headteacher, e.w.membery commemorated 100th anniversary of british colonisation building monument. monument features sculpture of lion, plaque reading:





the sculptor of lion archie h paton, has since been recognised nearby plaque. stopping point on kep track, adjacent picnic area , toilets.
