the first official contact between mexico , ottoman empire (present day turkey) 1864 when emperor maximilian of mexico sent out emissaries several nations seek official recognition of rule in country. diplomatic relations between 2 nations established in 1928 after transformation of turkey ottoman empire mustafa kemal atatürk, founder of modern turkish republic in 1923; , after end of mexican revolution in 1920. same year, both nations signed friendship agreement . immediately, both nations opened diplomatic legations in each other s capitals, respectively. in 1962, respective diplomatic missions upgraded embassies.
