in lawlor s first season suffered dislocated shoulder, ruling him out of season. lawlor regular manchester city s development side, taking number 1 spot following eirik johansen s loan scunthorpe united. went on club s first team tour of austria in pre-season of 2012–13 , continued battle under-21 goalkeeping spot against johansen , angus gunn. in 2013–14 season, lawlor involved first team on nights of champions league matches. played both legs development side lost under-21 premier league cup final reading. lawlor included in squad 2014–15 pre-season friendly against sporting kansas city.


2015–16 season

lawlor received first experience of playing senior football following emergency loan move barnet on 13 december 2015, necessitated injuries graham stack , jamie stephens. went straight goal match against yeovil town. lawlor made total of 5 appearances, keeping 1 clean sheet.


his displays @ barnet , youth level earned him loan move bury rest of season on 7 january 2016, side had monitored him time. made debut 2 days later in fa cup match against bradford city, in kept clean sheet. made league debut club on 16 january 2016 in 3–2 loss walsall. in fa cup replay against bradford city, lawlor saved 2 penalties 10-man bury emerged victorious shootout. in next round lawlor conceded chuba akpom hat-trick bury went out of cup hull city in fourth round. lawlor went on make 12 league appearances, keeping 5 clean-sheets, , 3 fa cup appearances shakers.


2016–17 season

lawlor joined manchester city first team again in pre-season match against bayern munich, alongside willy caballero , fellow youth teamers angus gunn , billy o brien. lawlor assigned number 45 upcoming season. going january transfer window lawlor linked move league 1 bury , chesterfield or league 2 doncaster rovers , portsmouth.

2016–17 season

lawlor signed league 2 leaders doncaster rovers on 13 january 2017 compete first team goalkeepers marko maroši , ross etheridge. made debut club day later against former loan club barnet, conceding once in 3–1 away win solidify rovers position @ top of table. lawlor made home debut week later, again conceding once in 3–1 win on crewe alexandra, match in made string of high-quality first half saves. week later lawlor kept first clean sheet doncaster in 3–0 away win against yeovil town.


lawlor suffered minor groin injury against leyton orient on 18 march 2017 resulted in him being substituted @ half time. however, passed fit next match against top of table rivals plymouth argyle. promotion confirmed lawlor kept clean sheet against mansfield town on 8 april. missed 2 matches in mid-april due chest injury reclaimed starting spot on return.


due marko maroši s injury issues , ross etheridge s poor form, , subsequent loan spell lincoln city, lawlor established himself first choice goalkeeper remainder of season, starting total of 19 league matches possible 21 , keeping clean sheets in 5 of matches. season ended promotion, although poor run of form towards end of season saw club finish third.


2017–18 season

lawlor started first full season doncaster rovers first choice goalkeeper, keeping clean sheet in season opener against gillingham. played first cup match club in efl cup tie against bradford city on 8 august 2017.
