sfg started fanzine club named zirabious in 2004 , later in 2005 after renaming fantasy academy changed approach more academic path , later became sole reference persian speculative fiction specially science fiction, since there still no group or organization working in area. in 2010 group reformed again separate fan base academic activities, , of fan activities moved new website called fanzine (persian: فنزین).


officially established in 2004, group have founded on earlier local private group called seventh dimension. fantasy academy has developed in several aspects considering target genre since then. main focus of group introduce , localization of 2 main subgenres of speculative fiction: fantasy , science fiction. however, other subgenres including horror fiction has been added recently.


the main media of representation of group has been internet, but, there appearances in other media such televisions, newspapers, magazines , exhibitions.


from beginning, there many branches related main site , through time, branches have increased. influential branches mention encyclopedia, english moon , gallery, of them heavily supported , depended main site: fantasy academy. in 2008 when group editor in chief issued copyright decree (currently no international copyright law valid in iran.), gallery closed down.


in 2008, there extensive efforts perform researches in field of fantasy literature in persian language , these efforts have formed main new goal of group now.

11th century parish church of St Leonard Hythe, Kent
